Safflower (Kusubi) oil, Coconut oil, and Peanut (Groundnut) oil each play an important role in everyday cooking, traditional wellness, and industrial applications. Safflower oil is valued for its light texture, heart-supporting properties, and use in natural colorants and industrial formulations such as paints. Coconut oil is cherished for its rich aroma, stability in cooking, and wide use in skincare, haircare, and herbal preparations due to its moisturizing and antimicrobial qualities. Peanut oil, known for its distinct flavour and high frying stability, offers heart-friendly nutrients and is also used in confectionery, bakery products, massage oils, and medicinal blends. Together, these three oils provide a perfect balance of flavour, nutrition, and versatility for both household and commercial use.

The linolenic and linoleic acids present in safflower seed oil are believed to support heart health by helping prevent the hardening of arteries, lowering cholesterol levels, and reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. Safflower also contains natural compounds that may promote better blood flow by thinning the blood, preventing clot formation, widening blood vessels, lowering blood pressure, and gently stimulating the heart. Meanwhile, coconut oil—rich in medium-chain fatty acids—offers stable cooking fat and may support energy metabolism and skin or hair health when used traditionally. Peanut (groundnut) oil, with its favorable balance of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, provides a good option for everyday cooking and may contribute to heart-healthy nutrition when used in moderation. While these oils offer promising benefits, more scientific research is needed to fully confirm their effectiveness and ensure they are used appropriately for health.

Early studies show Safflower Yellow (flower extract) may offer mild improvement in angina (chest pain) when used with standard therapy (IV form).
Around 1.5 tbsp/day of high-oleic safflower oil may support heart health, though research is limited.
Long-term consumption (1 year) shows no major improvement in cystic fibrosis symptoms in children.
